Yes - would love to do an episode on Ecodharma. I know there's good work being done in that area at The Natural Dharma Sangha w/ Lama Willa & Lama Liz, and Kaira Jewel Lingo offers Ecodharma retreats... Do you have any favorite guides around that?
Kaira Jewel Lingo is a new saint;) for sure. I’ve been introduced to great pioneers in this space via OneEarth sangha workshops. Kirsten barker is doing great work there. Someone who comes to mind is Larry Ward of lotus institute.
Really an amazing discussion and meditation practice. Thank you for the offering of it. Lama Rod Owens is wonderful. It brings up for me that our university is working similarly (tied to building tolerance for discomfort and disentangling discomfort from safety). It is such an importnat thing to do - work iwth our nervous systems to hold space for diversity of opinions without dividion. It makes me connect with the work of Ishrad Manji and her "Moral Courage" Project. Ishrad also addresses the discomfort vs unsafe now at the college level and for faculty trainings. She is also from Toronto! Not suprisingly. Lama Rod Owens is to me a quieter, softer but no less fierce version of the work. And he ties it to meditation - which she doesn't do. But I find both of them to be profound, and transformative.
Great conversation with lama rod. Really enjoyed and learned alot. Pls next time dive into the ecodharma!
