Thank you Lodro, Jeff and Tasha. Lots to think about from this conversation. For many years I tended to see the goodness and humanity in all, but it has become far more difficult in recent years. While I recognize the distinction between condemning the behavior and condemning the person, in today’s world it’s difficult to do that. For now I’m holding on to the closing thoughts. From Tasha- an idea that you want to dismiss outright is precisely why you should sit with it. From Lodro- experience the world as a scientist gathering evidence, rather than as a lawyer looking to prove a pre-determined point. From Jeff- stay with the open questions. 🙏❤️🙏
It’s so fascinating to know that I am basically good and that I’m also so easily pulled away from that knowing.
I appreciated the reminder that this or that person probably does not wake up wanting to act like a jerk. That person might wake up, say good morning to the cat and dog, then stumble to the coffee pot just like I do. Then life happens, and they get pulled away from their own okayness just like me.
