This was fantastic! Thank you for introducing me to Dr Juliana! I am extremely fortunate to have a partner who is open to deep/ honest conversations, exploring and learning more about each others’ desires, kinks, fantasies, etc. this will be a podcast to share with him. Furthermore, this may open a new desire in me to help women (and perhaps men) to go deeper in conversation regarding their sexuality. The grander encompassing of this conversation was a bit mind blowing so I will be looking into Dr Juliana’s courses. After all I am the friend everyone goes to when they want/need to talk about anything sex and I love these open, vulnerable conversations. The universe is telling me something (for sure) after hearing this podcast today. 😉Thank you all 🙏🏽
With less elegance than that of Holly’s comment (which I loved and agreed with) this podcast was just so good! It needs to be heard more than once to appreciate it for what is truly is.
A few quick bullets citing what really struck me 🤯
—The Yuks and the Yums
—Accepting someone for their differences
— The initial visceral reaction to holistic sexuality stems from us being taught that sexuality is the sex acts and sex orientation, the beginning and the end to it. Full stop.
— The roles that trauma, shame and/or rigidity plays in our lives
—The five steps in the 9 pillars to agency
—Sexuality is a major part of who we all are as human beings
—Shame has to have respect
— It’s not an l apology it’s a knowing
— Writing down your celebrations and healing stories over a timeline
I could go on forever!
Thank you all!
Side note: 🎵
As a very complicated, highly anxious grey haired (under my hair color!) neurodivergent, w/shoulder muscles as tight as cement, chronic migraines and other chronic invisible illnesses, it might be beneficial for some of your listeners if I shared a quick story: After decades of believing meditation was not for me, early January last year I took a BIG leap by my standards. I decided to download a meditation app. What!?! Hah that’s how I felt! Yet, at that moment, I saw it as my final resort for seeking answers to questions that medical professionals couldn't address. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for finding the ‘courage’ to try mindful meditation through an app AND to have selected that particular app having not read the book. (The app, Ten Percent Happier, is also how I was introduced to Jeff!) The benefits I continue to gain from my new passion cannot be denied. For 18 months now I continue to learn and practice everyday, often several times a day! 🙏🏼
“A new position on sex”- I see what you did there 😉 . I enjoyed every moment of being seduced by the wisdom and interplay of these three. To quote Tasha “this is obscenely relatable.” I can’t wait to check out Dr. Hauser’s book.
